Risk Management

The goal of the OHAIS loss control and risk management programs is to promote patient safety, improve quality of care and reduce the risk of potential claims.  Our programs are being developed in cooperation with the Ohio Hospital Association and OHA members. We are committed to providing personalized and customized services to meet the individual needs of our insureds.

Education

ELM Resource Tool for Insured Physicians

Among the OHA patient safety initiatives we will be supporting are:

• Ohio Patient Safety Institute (OPSI)
  A statewide effort that brings together all the stakeholders in patient safety to share data, resources, and expertise in order to  improve the safety of patients in Ohio.  

• Ohioans FiR_Xst
  A collaborative effort among thirteen Ohio organizations dedicated to improving patient safety in Ohio. The main goal of Ohioans FiR_Xst is eliminating the five most dangerous medical abbreviations
